Gerald W. Hedgcock, Jr., CPA

A 1971 graduate of Centenary College, Gerry served on active duty for three years before joining Heard, McElroy & Vestal in 1974. A short seven years later he was elected partner. With over 30 years experience in the accounting industry, Gerry carries with him a wealth of knowledge particularly relating to auto dealerships, real estate, cost segregation, profitability issues and the timber industry. In addition to his responsibilities as partner, Gerry plays a very proactive role in growing the firm as the partner in charge of Business Development. Gerry has two grown children, a son and a daughter. Connie K. Smallwood, CPA

With over 30 years experience in the accounting industry, Connie has a strong background in audit and assurance services, specifically those pertaining to financial institutions and employee benefit plans. Connie graduated from what is now named the University of Louisiana at Monroe with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. She began her career in the audit department of Arthur Young & Co. in Fort Worth, TX and joined Martin, Harrison and Smallwood, LLP in 1981 where she became partner. With the December 2009 merger of Martin, Harrison & Smallwood and Heard, McElroy & Vestal, Connie was admitted to the partnership of Heard, McElroy & Vestal. Michael M. Martin, CPA

Mike has been involved in the accounting industry for more than 39 years, providing a wide, in-depth variety of experience to the firm. As a Certified Public Accountant, Mike's primary concentration is in taxation and audit services. Mike is a graduate of Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, LA. Prior to joining Heard, McElroy & Vestal, Mike was partner at the Monroe CPA firm of Martin, Harrison and Smallwood, LLP. He became partner at Heard, McElroy & Vestal in December 2009 when the two firms merged. William Harrison, CPA, PFS

Bill has over 30 years of experience in the accounting industry. He is a Certified Public Accountant and also holds the designation of Personal Financial Specialist (PRS). Bill's areas of specialization include tax, accounting, financial planning, and business consulting services particularly relating to small businesses, physicians and other professionals, and high net-worth individuals. Bill earned his Bachelors in Accounting from Northeast Louisiana University in 1976. Prior to joining Heard, McElroy & Vestal, Bill was partner at the Monroe CPA firm of Martin, Harrison & Smallwood, LLP. With the merger of MHS and HMV in December of 2009, Bill was admitted into the partnership of Heard, McElroy & Vestal.
