Heard, McElroy & Vestal Merges with Martin, Harrison & Smallwood
HMV is pleased to announce our merger with Monroe CPA firm Martin, Harrison & Smallwood, LLP. As a regional CPA and consulting firm, HMV is constantly seeking ways to better serve our clients, people, and communities. This merger is part of a plan to ensure continued and expanded services to the Ouachita Parish area.
With this merger, we are excited to introduce three new partners to the firm - Michael Martin, William Harrison, and Connie Smallwood.
Michael Martin, CPA
Mike has been involved in the accounting industry for close to 40 years, providing a wide, in-depth variety of experience in tax matters to the firm. As a Certified Public Accountant, Mike's promary focus lies in the areas of tax and auditing.
William (Bill) Harrison, CPA, PFS
Bill has more than 30 years of experience in the accounting industry. He is a Certified Public Accountant and also holds the designation of Personal Financial Specialist (PFS). Bill's areas of specialization include tax, accounting, financial planning, and business consulting services particularly relating to small businesses, physicians and other professionals, and high net-worth individuals.
Connie Smallwood, CPA
Connie began her career at Arthur Young, & Co. and joined Martin, Harrison & Smallwood in 1981. With over 30 years of experience, Connie has a strong background in audit and assurance services, specifically those pertaining to financial institutions and employee benefit plans.

HMV Welcomes New Employees to Shreveport Location
Ashley Atkins & Debbie Elder Ashley and Debbie, both Certified Public Accountants, have joined the firm as part-time tax staff in our Shreveport location.
Ashley earned her Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Texas Christian University. She is involved in numerous charitable and civic organizations including board member of the Junior League of Shreveport-Bossier, treasurer of Holiday In Dixie, and St. Mark's Cathedral School Board of Trustees.
 Debbie received a Bachelor of Business Administration from Baylor University and brings with her over ten years of experience working in public accounting. Debbie is a member of the Tax & Estate Planning Council of Shreveport as well as the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Louisiana Society of Certified Public Accountants (LCPA).
Amy Ivy Amy joined the firm in early February. She is the newest member of our Shreveport administrative staff, specifically working in our Retirement Plan Services department. Rob Salter
Rob joined our Shreveport location in January as a staff accountant in the audit department. Rob attended Baylor University where he earned both his Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and Master's of Accounting.
