100 WAYS: #19 Use Fax Machine/Email to Speed Collections
– January 19, 2011

Think in terms of using your fax machine or email to take orders instead of paying an employee to perform this same task. You can also use voice mail for 24 hour-a-day order taking instead of paying an employee to work those hours.  Human errors are minimized and orders are filled expeditiously at lower cost. Faxing or emailing your bills to customers also saves expenses and decreases the turnaround time.

This is Profit Enhancement Idea #19 in Heard, McElroy & Vestal's 100 Ways: The Profit Enhancement Process series. The purpose of the series is to assist business owners and managers in cutting costs and increasing revenues by working smarter, not harder.
