Chris joined Heard, McElroy & Vestal in June 2008 in Shreveport after working in the banking industry and joined the partnership in 2019. He uses his experience in tax planning and preparation for individuals, partnerships and corporations, in addition to a specialized training in the taxation of financial institutions and the construction industry. Chris often works with the audit department as a key member of the entertainment, digital media and film audit team reviewing and performing Agreed Upon Procedures in accordance with Louisiana Economic Development (LED)requirements. He works with all state tax incentives offered by LED, specifically Enterprise Zone, Industrial Tax Exemption, Quality Jobs and Angel Investor Tax Credits among many others. Additionally, Chris has experience with the Tangible Asset and Repair regulations (TARS) working closely with clients’ fixed asset schedules and consults with clients regarding cost segregations.

In 2006, Chris graduated from Louisiana State University in Shreveport with a Bachelor of Science in Financial Analysis. For the advancement of his professional education, Chris has attended many conferences and courses in various locations around the country, such as the RSM US Alliance Tax Conferences, AICPA Tax & Audit Courses, and LCPA Tax & Audit courses. Currently, he is a participant of the RSM Leadership and Advisory Institute (formerly the RSM Partner Development Program). At HMV, Chris is a member of the Recruiting and IT committees.

In the community, Chris was recognized as a ’40 Under 40′ recipient by the Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce in 2012, and he completed the Greater Shreveport Leadership Program the following year.
