In 1981, Jon began his career at Heard, McElroy and Vestal where he currently serves as an Audit Senior Manager in the Shreveport office. Jon’s experience focuses on audit services relating to governmental entities, not-for-profit organizations, Federal single audit, and financial institutions where his responsibilities include planning, coordinating, performing, and reviewing multiple engagements in the accounting and audit environment.

Jon received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Louisiana State University in Shreveport in 1979 and went on to obtain his Master of Science in Accounting from the University of Houston in 1981. He continues to further his education to meet the requirements of the Government Auditing Standards and is a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, through which he has earned the Not-for-Profit Certificate I, and the Society of Louisiana Certified Public Accountants. Jon serves as a member of the LSCPA’s Not-for-Profit Issues Committee.

An active member of the Shreveport community, Jon has been involved with the C.E. Byrd High School Alumni Association, where he has formerly served as President, Treasurer and Board member, as well as Treasurer of the Byrd Foundation. Jon is a past President of Service Connection, Community Support Programs, and the A.C. Steere PTA.
