Melissa D. Mitcham, CPA, CFP

Melissa joined Heard, McElroy & Vestal in 2002 as a Tax Manager and became Partner in 2008. She has extensive experience in the accounting field and works closely with clients in assisting them to make sound business decisions. She assists clients in a variety of ways, from compliance with complex tax laws, rules, and regulations to interpreting financial data and projecting future outcomes.

Melissa is a 1995 summa cum laude graduate of Louisiana Tech University and was initiated into Beta Alpha Psi. She holds the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation, awarded to individuals who successfully complete the certification requirements in the areas of financial planning, taxes, insurance, estate planning and retirement planning. She is a member of the Louisiana Tech School of Accountancy Advisory Board.

Active in the community, Melissa is a graduate of Leadership Ouachita and volunteers with numerous charitable and civic organizations. She is a board member of the Monroe Chamber of Commerce, where she served on the technology committee and worked closely with small business and government advocacy committees to assess small business technology needs.
